Diane Jean Nelson, 72, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2022, in Fargo, ND at the Sanford Hospice House, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Diane Jean Bosh was born on June 30, 1950, in Devils Lake, ND, to William and Georgia (Maixner) Bosh. They later moved to Lakota, ND, a town they loved, before moving to Fargo, ND, in 1965.
Diane graduated from Fargo North High School in 1968. Her career spanned over 20 years working for the Kmart Corporation. She loved her “Northside Kmart,” where she met many of her lifelong friends. She kept in contact with many of them over the years since her retirement in 2006.
On August 30, 1969, she was united in marriage to Robert in Fargo, ND. They made their home in North Fargo and had three children, Jade, Chad, and Colby.
Diane is best known for her love for Elvis and was able to visit Graceland in 1989. Diane enjoyed watching her children play baseball, hockey and spending time with her closest family and her beloved Yorkshire Terrier dogs (Yorkies).
Diane is survived by her husband, Robert Nelson, Fargo, ND; children Jade (Beth) Nelson, Harwood, ND; Chad (Kathrine) Nelson, Gilbert, AZ; Colby Nelson, Fargo, ND. Brother, Nick (Donna) Bosh, Moorhead, MN, and sister, Kay Patron, Grand Forks, ND. Sister-in-law Norma (Allen) Kleingartner, West Fargo, ND.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law Anne Overby; stepfather-in-law Leo Overby; father-in-law Norman Nelson; sisters Vonnie Peterson and Karen Schmechel; niece Dawn Schmechel; brothers-in-law Darrell Schmechel, Pete Peterson, and Stan Patron.
She was also survived by seven grandchildren, Hanna, Tanner, Ellie, Logan, Grant, Austin, and Allyson, along with 15 nieces and nephews.
There will be a burial service at the Fargo National Cemetery in Harwood, ND, next Spring, followed by us honoring her and her wish to have a celebration of life.
