Diane Kay Heier was born on January 28, 1951 in Minot, ND, to Steve and Alice Faydo. She graduated from Minot High School in 1969. Diane started working for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company (formerly Souris River Telephone Company) in Minot, ND while in high school, then transferred to Jamestown, ND in 1975. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Steve Heier, on September 10, 1977. While living in Jamestown Diane and Steve owned and operated the Northstar Bar.

As her life with Steve evolved so did her job. She was transferred from Jamestown to Fargo, ND in 1980 and in time, her success with Dakota Carrier Network in Fargo, ND led her to retire in 2016. Diane spent thirty plus years in the telecommunications industry. She was a life member AMVETS Aux Post 9 and a member of the VFW Aux Post 762 both in Fargo. She was also a member of the Pioneers Phone Operators Organization.

She and Steve participated in the community on billiard leagues and a bowling league and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Diane had many great memories with her golden retriever, Diamond. Diane will be remembered most for her contagious smile and vibrant spirit. She loved her friends, family and her husband and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Heier of Horace, ND; step-daughter, Kelly Gums, Nebraska; her mother-in law, Dorothy Heier, Fargo, ND; brother, Duane Faydo, Minot, ND; sisters-in-law, Linda(Terry) Richardson, Fargo, ND and Shirley Faydo, Minot, ND; nephews, Mark (Bobbie) Faydo, Maple Grove, MN; Steve (Jessica) Faydo, Minot, ND; Jan (Nicole)Faydo, Minot, ND; and Lonnie Schmidt, Fargo, ND; nieces, Cindy Lane, Baltic, CT; Kathy Ouimet, Norwich, CT; and Tina (Brian) Rodgers, Minot, ND; five great-nieces, Ashley and Courtney Faydo, Maple Grove, MN; Ashleigh and Morgan Rodgers, Allura and Allena Faydo, all of Minot, ND; and one great-nephew, Alexander Faydo, Minot, ND.
