Dennis Wayne McIntyre was surrounded by family as he passed away peacefully at Bethany Homes on April 4, 2022.

Dennis was born March 4, 1946, in Fargo, ND to Nina (Forsgren) and Lester “Mac” McIntyre. Dennis went to Fargo Central High and then graduated in Business from North Dakota State University.

In Fargo, Dennis met and married Gwen Charboneau, and the two were together for over 35 years. They raised two wonderful daughters, Nicolle and Emily. Dennis and Gwen shared many years together, spending a lot of time with friends and family, worshipping at church, supporting their girls in all their endeavors, and working on their home in Prairie Rose. He acquired quite the collection of tools!

Dennis loved Labrador Retrievers and usually had one or two that he was training for hunting. Pheasant hunting with a group of friends and dogs was one of his greatest passions. Dennis always had a joke or funny story to tell.

For more than 30 years, Dennis worked at Midwest Motor Express as a truck dispatcher; later in life, he worked part-time at the YWCA.

While his last few years were met with health challenges, Dennis would never let you know. He was always so happy to have visitors and to spend time with those he cared for. He was a sweet Grandpa to Alyssa, Megan, and Zachary, and he truly treasured their visits to see him at Bethany Homes. He loved his daughters, Nicolle and Emily and enjoyed hearing stories of their adventures and family life.

He is preceded in death by his parents and former spouse, Gwen. He is survived by his brother Doug (Vicki) McIntyre and daughters Nicolle (Paul) Fowler and Emily (Ed) McHugh; grandchildren Alyssa, Megan, and Zachary Fowler and step-grandchildren, Madalyn and Denali McHugh.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Dennis on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11 AM at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, North Dakota. A Visitation will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Olivet Lutheran Church, followed by a Prayer Service starting at 7:00 PM.
