Deleth Ellen (Davies) Oliver, 83, of West Fargo, ND, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Kind-er Care Home in West Fargo, surrounded by her family, loving caregivers of Kind-er Care and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Deleth (Del for short) was born on April 24, 1934, in Port Dinorwic, Wales, United Kingdom (UK) to John and Ivy Davies. She was a State Registered Nurse on the Isle of Man, UK, where she met the love of her life.
Deleth was united in marriage to Donald Oliver on May 11, 1956, in Douglas, Isle of Man. This is where their son Stuart was born. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Newfoundland, Canada where their son John was born. In 1961, the family moved to Watford City, North Dakota. Here, their daughter Katrina was born. The family moved back to Newfoundland and Watford City before finally settling in Fargo in 1973.
Del and Don were avid travelers and took many trips to Great Britain, Hawaii, and Mexico. They also enjoyed several cruises. For many years, Del and Don spent several weeks each winter in Mexico where they made many friends. After retirement, they divided their time between Lake Havasu City, AZ and West Fargo.
Del enjoyed reading and was involved in many activities including tennis, crafts and a variety of volunteer work. She loved to knit and would teach anyone who was interested in learning. She also had a knack for languages and loved to speak with the locals in Mexico.
Del is survived by her husband, Don; three children, Stuart, Fargo, John, Wolverton, MN, and Katrina (Peter) Doll, West Fargo; three grandchildren, Gina (Tom) Mrozla, Amy (Alex) Gebhard and Ethan Doll; and one great-granddaughter, Demi Oliver Mrozla.
She is preceded in death by both her parents, and her brother, John.
