Delbert (Del) Curt Schoenheit passed away at 86 years old on December 7, 2022, surrounded by family and love, from complications of Vasculitis which resulted in heart failure.

Delbert was born on October 15, 1936 to Otto Schoenheit and Wanda (Elke) Schoenheit, in Neche, ND. He had twelve brothers and sisters. He attended school in Northome, MN and Cavalier, ND. His nickname as a child was Beano.

Delbert joined the National Guard in 1956 and served until his honorable discharge in 1961 due to an injury. He was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO for his training. As a young adult, Delbert worked construction until his mid-40s. Afterwards, he started his own businesses washing windows and cleaning carpets. His last employment was a partnership with his sister and brother-in-law working under the name Merle’s Air Duct Cleaning. He semi-retired when he was in his mid-70s. I say semi-retired because the man could not sit still. He loved taking care of the lawn or snow and enjoyed helping others.

Delbert met Jacqueline Warren in Lakin KS, and they were married December 28, 1969. They have four children together. Even though the couple divorced in 2012, they remained friends and helped each other as they were able. Jacqueline was by his side in the last days.

If there is one defining characteristic of Delbert, it was his love for God. He was a member of the United Church of God. He read the bible daily until he couldn’t in the end. He believed strongly in loving Jesus and the father with all his mind, body, and soul.

Delbert was preceded by his mother and father, Wanda and Otto Schoenheit; his siblings, Robert (Bob) Schoenheit, Arnold Schoenheit, Ronald Schoenheit, Gilbert Schoenheit, Alice Schoenheit, Agnes Klindt, and Rita Schoenheit.

He is survived by his siblings, Charlotte Soderberg, Phyllis Reck, Annamae Lammens, Marlene Stremick, Howard Schoenheit, and Ruth Hall; his children, Mickhel Schoenheit (Tasha) and their five children (Dylnn Schoenheit, Hunter Schoenheit, Zoey Kennedy, Ainsley Kennedy and Jackee Schoenheit), LaVonnya Koenig and her three children (Faith Koenig, Isaac Koenig, and Levi Koenig), Dawn Sahr (Jeff) and their two children (Daniel Sahr and John Sahr), and Quintin Schoenheit and his three children (Breanna Heimark, Maisy Schoenheit, and Paul Schoenheit).
