Deklen Jordan Jedi Fischer was born February 7th 2019 to parents John and Lindsay Fischer and older brother Durham Fischer.
Deklen brought joy to everyone who knew him, and many who didn’t know him but got the chance to see him at some of his favorite places including Scheels and the splash park. He smiled very early in his life and that’s fitting of the happy, social baby he was. He was curious, always looking around at what people were doing or saying. He loved snuggles and riding in his stroller, but his favorite thing was “talking” to his brother, Durham. His smile, coos and laughter were big, genuine, and plentiful, and always, always present when he was interacting with his big brother.
Deklen had a rare genetic condition, spinal muscular atrophy, that affected his muscle development so much that he was not able to move, breathe, or swallow on his own by the time he was 4 months old. When it became too much for him to do on his own, he left this world peacefully and happily in the arms of his parents. Deklen will be greatly missed, but never forgotten, always in the hearts of those who love him.
Instead of a funeral service, a party including a toy drive for Fargo Toys for Tots will be held in Deklen’s name on Wednesday, August 7th at the Main Shelter in Lindenwood Park-1905 Roger Maris Dr. in Fargo-from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
