Dean Edward Halverson was born on November 23, 1949, to Rev. Philip Halverson and Elaine Halverson (nee Nelson) in Minneapolis, MN. He was a proud graduate of Hendrum High School and attended North Dakota State University (NDSU) for two years.
Dean devoted 30 years of his life to serving as a Vehicle Maintenance Superintendent with the Air National Guard, retiring with the esteemed rank of Senior Master Sergeant. After his distinguished military service, Dean worked for Berg Auto Supplies until his retirement in 2010.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Halverson; stepdaughters, Stacey (and husband Jason Flieth, with grandchildren Haddie, Hallie Jo, and Rehder) and Stephanie (and husband Wayne McArthur); siblings, Dennis (and wife Kathie Halverson), David (and wife Marj Halverson), Kathy Berg, Phyllis Halverson, and Mary Halverson. He is also survived by his children, Matthew Halverson and Michelle Curtis (and husband Chad Curtis); grandchildren, Brady Halverson, Nick Curtis, Cassi Lee (husband Patrick Lee), and Emmitt Curtis; and great-granddaughter, Elyn Lee.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (CT) at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, located at 215 7th Street South, Fargo, ND 58103. This will be followed by a memorial service at the same location, beginning at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Harwood, North Dakota.
