David A. Lonski passed away November 14, 2013, under the care of his family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
David Allen Lonski was born May 25, 1945 to John and Clara (Berg) Lonski in Bordulac, N.D. He moved to a farm near Oriska, ND at a young age. He attended school in Oriska, graduating in 1963. He attended NDSCS in Wahpeton, ND graduating in 1965. David was an active member of the Army National Guard in Valley City, ND from August 1966 to honorable discharge in 1970. On November 22, 1969, David married the love of his life, Dee Ann Sholts in Oriska, ND. They recently celebrated 43 years of marriage. David and Dee were blessed with a daughter Deborah in 1972 and a son Daniel in 1975.
David worked in construction as a cement finisher for 46 years. The majority of time was spent at Camrud Foss Concrete Construction. David was man who liked to fix things, remodeling his three homes five times over the years. He also liked to help family, friends and his neighbors. David was a very kind and gentle man, who loved his family more than anything in this world. He was there for his children in all their endeavors. When he became a grandpa, he was filled with an even greater joy. He attended as many of their activities as possible, and he cherished the memories.
David is survived by his wife, Dee; daughter Deborah (Steven) Schwandt Fargo, ND; son Daniel (Erin Lippie) Lonski, Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren, Austin Schwandt, Jamestown, ND; Michael and Matthew Schwandt, Fargo; Madison, Hudson, Jackson, Ashelyn Lonski, and Austin Castro, Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, John (Jill) Lonski, Valley City, ND; Dennis (Margaret) Lonski, Harwood, ND; Keith (Jennie) Lonski, Valley City, ND; and many nieces and nephews. David will forever be loved and missed by all his family.
David was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara Lonski; and in-laws, Donald and Marjorie Sholts.
David has requested that all who attend dress casually. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family
