David Leverson, age 73, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, October 27th, 2016 at the VA Hospital.
Dave was an outdoorsman who enjoyed the wonders of nature, hunting and fishing with his family and friends every chance he’d get. Many good times were had each autumn on the annual hunting trip to Medora, as well as each spring, summer and fall at Trowbridge Lake. Boating, campfires, and time outdoors was a highlight for Dave, and we expect he will be enjoying those activities for eternity.
Dave was born on November 11th, 1942 in Fargo, to Cecilia Gunderson Leverson and Luther M. Leverson. After high school, he entered the United States Naval Academy in 1962, spending most of his time in Corpus Christi, Texas, specializing in Aviation Electronics as a Third Class Petty Officer. After serving our country for 4 years, he returned to the Fargo area and attended NDSU, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics in June of 1970.
1970 was quite a year—in addition to graduating from college, it was also the year he married the love of his life, Cecelia Wallace on November 28th. The couple raised two wonderful children and enjoyed the journey of parenthood, living life fully in their riverside home, north of Fargo. Dave began working in sales and as a recruiter for Life Investors Management Corporation and was licensed in Securities and Life Insurance. Later, he enjoyed a lengthy career working for Johnson Diversey Corporation in industrial chemical sales. His customers appreciated Dave’s skill and diligence.
Dave’s dry, witty sense of humor was memorable to all who knew him. He was also a strong and compassionate man, who would lend a hand at a moment’s notice, would move mountains if necessary for all those he loved, and will be dearly missed by many. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia; daughter, Patricia; son, Scott (Kristi); grandchildren, Ashley and Kaden; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Carly, along with siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
