David Raymond Kosler, 77 of rural Dent MN passed away in Fargo ND on July 14, 2016. David was born in Weimar TX on July 22, 1938 to Ludmilla (Miksch) and Stephen Kosler. He attended Texas A&M and graduated Sam Houston State University.
David first worked for Stallman Lumber and ended his retail career as Vice President of Merchandising for the San Diego-based Handyman Corporation home improvement chain. After his retirement as Vice President of Christianson Asphalt in Fargo, he moved permanently to his beloved East Silent Lake. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, reading, road trips and time with his grandchildren. He was a longtime volunteer at the Perham weekly turtle races.
David is survived by wife Sonja; brother Michael (Cynthia) of Schulenburg; children Lisa, Keith (Curtis McKinney), Terri Peña (Michael), Bryan (Lisa), Cheryl Wilburn (Kenneth); niece Letta Page (Josh), nephew Bjorn Christianson (Jessica Nadeau); grandchildren Erin, M. Lloyd, Spencer, Ellie, Jade, Michelle, Gunnar, Kaleigh, Clayton, Aaron, Gavin. He was predeceased by parents Steve and Millie of Weimar and son Stephen Michael (Thuy) of Cypress.
David said he lived a long and good life and was ready for the next adventure. He passed in peace and comfort.
Family memorial services will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Weimar, Texas where he will be interred near his parents and son Mike.
Memorial donations may be made in David’s name to Sanford Palliative care, 1720 South University Fargo or American Diabetes Association.
