David P. Hanson, 64, died Wednesday, March 1 in Fargo, ND. Third born to Artis (Lewis) and Howard Hanson on March 17, 1952, he is survived by his siblings, Cathy (Moe), Paul and Doug. Dave graduated from Argusville High School in 1970 and served his country as a MP Officer in Panama from 1971-73. A proud graduate of NDSU, Dave earned a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics in 1976.
He was an adoring and proud father who encouraged his kids to work hard and pursue their love of learning, as he did, with zest. He worked hard for his family and enjoyed a successful career as an agricultural businessman. Dave was happiest at the helm of a jet boat with his children in tow, aviator sunglasses on, wind in his hair, blasting “B-B-B-Benny and the Jets.” He had the greenest lawn in the neighborhood and was never without a Grisham or Clancy novel. Career opportunities moved the family around the West, and he loved to quote his father Howard, stating, “Home is where you hang your hat.”
Dave is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children, McCall (Gawain Fadeley), Jacey Hanson (Keith Simpson), Bennett; former spouse Janice Hanson, and granddaughter, Ramona Birdie Jean Fadeley.
