Daryl Anderson

Daryl Keith Anderson was born December 19, 1946, in Fargo, North Dakota, son of Norman and Gladys (Jaranson) Anderson. He was baptized at First Lutheran Church in Fargo. He went to school in West Fargo and graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1964. Daryl received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Economics in 1972, from North Dakota State University, Fargo. He received his Masters Degree in 1978 from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. Daryl married Judy Ann Terhark in 1971. They had a son, Ryan. They divorced. He married Edith Ebert in 1983, his soul mate and best friend. Daryl became the Assistant Administrator of the Johnson Clinic, PC, in Rugby, North Dakota in 1974. In 1977, he became the Regional Administrator of CIGNA Healthplan of Arizona in Phoenix. Daryl played a lead role in establishing the first HMO as Director of Operations in Dallas, Texas in 1982. He became the Director of Health Care Development in Dallas. Daryl was responsible for implementing a major delivery system development project, completing 22 outpatient facilities while working at CIGNA Healthplans Inc. of California, Texas and Arizona. He became Vice President of Development in Glendale, California in 1982. In 1986, Daryl became the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Whittaker Health Services of Texas in Dallas. He also served as a Health Care Consultant for Glendale, California. From March 1992 to November 1994, Daryl served as the Director of Business Development Group, Director of Operations and Physician Development for the Foundation Health Corporation of Rancho Cordova, California. Daryl served as a consultant from 1995 to 1996 out of Folsom, California and in 1997 until his retirement, through the Page Group, Inc, a nationally recognized managed care consulting firm. Daryl had 25 years of experience in group practice startup, acquisition and management. He successfully created strategies to integrate and manage physicians and groups within managed care delivery systems. Daryl loved the outdoors, camping, golfing and hiking with the company of family and friends. Daryl died Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo. Daryl is survived by his son, Ryan, Fargo, ND; granddaughter, Ava; brothers, Gary (Christine) Anderson, Lakeville, MN: and David Anderson, Moorhead, MN: sister, Kathy (Don) Hendrickson, Gresham, OR; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial Service: Saturday, November 12, 2011, at 1:00 PM, at St. John Lutheran Church, Fargo.
