Curtis Rust

Curtis V. Rust, 71, of Fargo, ND, died Sunday, January 21, 2007, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Curtis V. Rust was born on August 17, 1935, at Fargo, ND, the son of Clarence and Marie (Jordahl) Rust. He grew up in Harwood and attended Oak Grove Lutheran High School. Curt attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. He joined the United States Navy in 1954. During his military duties, he lived in Texas, Washington, D.C., Japan, Washington, Alaska, California, Okinawa and Florida. He retired from the Navy in 1974 after 20 years of service. After the service, he returned to North Dakota. He worked at the Dean Rust Farm in Harwood, ND, then at Winterquist Farms, G & D Farms and Greg Winterquist Farm, all of Grandin, ND. He retired in 2003. Curtis is survived by his son, Terry Rust, West Fargo, ND; three daughters, Valarie Rust, Siren, WI; Vanessa Rust, Altoona, WI; Vickie Rust, Fargo, ND; three brothers, Gary Rust, Burnsville, MN; Arden Rust, Pahrump, NV; Dean Rust, Harwood, ND; three sisters, Beverly Narum, Missoula, MT; Joanne Johnson, Houston, TX; Bonita Rust, Bloomington, MN; and 21 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clarence Rust and Ronald Rust. Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND.
