Connie A. Huether, age 71, of Fargo, ND, went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2024. She died peacefully under the care of St. Catherine North staff, where she lived for the last six years due to her severe rheumatoid arthritis.

Connie was born on March 25, 1952, in Pittsburg, California, to Gilbert and Julia Greenhouse, one of 7 siblings. Connie graduated from Edison High School in 1969. After high school, Connie attended Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, California, and then went on to work for Chevron Oil Company. In 1980, she met her husband Galen, and they married on March 26, 1983. They recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Connie had a son, Ross, from her first marriage, and together, she and Galen had two daughters, Alison and Mallory. They raised their children in California until they moved back to Galen’s home state of North Dakota in 1993.

Connie had a passion for deepening her connection with Christ and sharing His love with her family and friends or anyone whom she could connect with. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. To her nieces and nephews, she was known as “Aunt Funny”. She always found ways to have fun, whether she was singing along and dancing to her favorite music, playing games, or just being goofy. She had a love for animals, especially the family dogs Millie, Penny, and Lucy and those she will be reunited with, Mila, Lola, and Sadie. She loved to sew, bake, cook, read (especially outside in the sun, when the North Dakota weather allowed), and participate in her bible studies. Even though her disease prevented her from being able to work outside the home, she always found ways to be active, like volunteering at her children’s school or church, learning and teaching others sign language as well as instruments like piano and guitar, or supporting charities that she felt strongly about.

In the last few years, as her disease progressed, despite losing physical abilities, she maintained a strong and positive spirit. She always had a smile on her face that would brighten anyone’s day. Her love for her family and the friends she made along the way was undeniable. She cherished each moment God gave her on this earth and tried to make the best of every situation. Her endless positivity and love of life will live on in all who were lucky enough to have known her.

She is survived by her husband, Galen, Fargo, ND; son, Ross, Discovery Bay, CA; daughters, Alison (Tim), West Fargo, ND, and Mallory, Fargo, ND; and three grandchildren, Ceres, Teigan, and Kasen.

Connie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Catherine North, who cared for her like she was one of their own.

The family asks that you consider donating to 4 Luv of Dog Rescue or Homeward Animal Shelter in her honor.
