Connie Rae Brekke, 85, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Bethany on University in Fargo.

Connie was born on July 29, 1939, in Grand Forks, ND, to Thomas and Minnie (Sanders) Holto. She spent her childhood roller skating and was the baton twirler for her school's band.

Connie met Harold Brekke while roller skating in Norfolk, VA. They returned to Fargo, where they married at Elim Lutheran Church and raised four children together.

A woman of many passions, Connie loved to dance, visit thrift stores, and engage in crafts. She was particularly talented at creating beautiful Christmas wreaths, and many of her handcrafted pieces continue to adorn homes to this day. A true fashionista, Connie had a fondness for hats, always adding her unique flair to any outfit. Known for her infectious sense of humor, she had a wide circle of dear friends in Fargo. Whether visiting with friends, playing Bingo, or simply enjoying life, Connie was always on the go. She also took great joy in making sure her grandchildren received presents every Christmas.

Connie is survived by her four children, Kevin, Kathy, Kris, and Kent (Michelle); nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many loyal friends who cherished her spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
