Clifton L. Overvold, beloved husband, inspirational father and grandfather, and influential entrepreneur, passed away January 4th, 2007. Born on August 8th, 1935, in Fargo, ND, Cliff spent most of his life there graduating from Fargo Central High School in 1953. After high school, Cliff found himself in the Military, of which he volunteered for, and served his time for his country. Having grown up a very successful young man, Cliff developed a deep passion and had a special love for the automobile industry, which can be attributed to his father, Clifford H. Overvold, who started Overvold Motors in Fargo, and in 1965, turned it over to Cliff, who ran it until it was sold in 1989. Despite the business being sold, Cliff always followed the “car business”, whether it was reading Automotive News, watching Barrett Jackson’s Classic Car Auction, or simply buying and selling his own vehicles. After selling Overvold Motors, and being the entrepreneur he is, Cliff couldn’t sit still and became associated with Rexall Showcase International, a neutraceutical company where he emerged as one of the top 10 individuals in the company from building a business that spanned across the globe. Most recently, he served as President of Total Energy Concepts, Inc. working along side of his two sons. Cliff was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. His prized trophy collection can be seen at Gander Mountain in Brainerd, MN. He loved to just be in the outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting, running his chainsaw, or just walking and always said that those times were priceless to him. He is survived by his wife, Pamela “PJ” Overvold; five children, Carole Evenson (Missoula, MT); Julie Andresen (Detroit Lakes, MN); Kathleen Paulson (Moorhead, MN); Douglas Overvold (Minnetrista, MN); Damian Smith (Jill) (Duluth, MN); six grandchildren, Justin, Sarah, Stephanie, Logan, Nicholas, and Daniel; sisters, Francese Sitmer and Roberta Overvold; and brother, Keith Overvold; mother-in-law, Hazelle Smith and other numerous relatives. Cliff also has a special spot in his heart for his two toy poodles, Mercedes and Alexa. Preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lilly Overvold and sister Romona. Memorials are preferred to Peace Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND, or Ducks Unlimited. A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, January 12th at 11:00 am at Peace Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND, followed by a reception at the Fargo Country Club. Visitation will be Thursday, January 11th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Hanson Runsvold Funeral Home in Fargo.
