Clifford Hagen was born at the home of his parents, Milford and Muriel Hagen, on September 9, 1934. He was raised on the farm that his grandparents homesteaded. He received his education through the Park Township and McDermot public school system. Clifford entered the South Dakota National Guard in 1953, serving 12 years, reaching the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Clifford worked for Cass Clay Creamery for 39 years in various locations and roles until his retirement in 2000 as president.
Through time, Clifford was a member of the Lions, Faith United Methodist Church, a strong supporter of the FM Athletics Organization, and local junior high, high school, and Bison athletic activities.
Clifford passed away on August 14, 2021 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.
Clifford is survived by his sons, Larry (Dorinda) Hagen, Gary Hagen, Michael (Lesa) Hagen; grandchildren, Keely (Bob) Hewitt and Seena Hagen, Taylor Nelson, Braden Hagen, and Addi Hagen; many nieces and nephews; brother, Gale (Virginia) Hagen.
He was preceded in death by his wife Arlys; his parents; sisters, Avis Hanson, Darlene Benson; infant brother, Niles Hagen; brothers-in-law, Vince Benson and John Hanson; and nephews, Bill Hanson and Ty Benson.
