Clayone Carlson, 77, of Fargo, ND, died Monday, June 16, 2008, at Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND. Clayone Jean Ellis was born February 23, 1931, in Crookston, Minnesota, daughter of Henry and Jenny (Sundet) Ellis. She graduated from Crookston Central High School in 1949. She worked at Northwest Clinic, until marrying Roy Carlson November 3, 1951, in Crookston. They lived in Breckenridge, Minnesota, and Wahpeton, North Dakota until 1954, when they moved to Fargo. Roy died in 1993. Clayone worked at St. Luke’s Hospital, Lakeland Mental Health and West Acres. She was a member of Mecca Chapter Order of Eastern Star. Clayone volunteered at MeritCare Hospital and Emergency Food Pantry. During the Cold War, she volunteered at the Air Force Filter Center Ground Observer Corp. Family requests in lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Hospice of the Red River Valley. Clayone is survived by her son, Kurt Carlson, Fargo, ND; and a daughter, Kay Carlson, San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her four sisters, Marion, Faith, Winnie, and Margaret; and her brother, Robert. Memorial Service: Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 2:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial: North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery in Mandan, North Dakota.
