Clarice Nelson

Clarice G. Nelson, 93, of Fargo, ND, died Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo. Clarice Gwendolyn Olson was born May 9, 1918, to Oscar and Clara (Olson) Olson, at Henning, Minnesota. She resided there with her parents and siblings until 1932, when they moved to Maddock, North Dakota. She attended high school there and graduated in 1935. She attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, after which she worked at Northern School Supply in Fargo until she married Oman Nelson of Maddock on March 7, 1946, in Moorhead, Minnesota. They moved to Walhalla, North Dakota in 1956, where they owned and operated the Walhalla Hardware until they sold the business and retired in 1979. They maintained their home base in Walhalla until 1982, when they moved to Jamestown, North Dakota, moving again in 1994 to Fargo, for health reasons. Oman passed away April 22, 1998. They spent many winters in Arizona and summers at the lake in Minnesota. Clarice is survived by one son, Lynn (Sandra) Nelson, Fargo, ND; and one daughter, Collette (Faron) Jerstad, Fargo, ND; three grandchildren, Nicole Nelson, Jamestown, ND; and Eric Nelson, St. Louis, MO; and Brittany Jerstad of Fargo, ND; one sister, Frances (Daniel) Green of Fargo; plus several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: Monday, December 5, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home Chapel, Fargo. Visitation: One hour prior to the service. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
