Chrysann Agusta Olson was born August 26, 1948, to Carl and Mabel Olson in Minot, ND. Chrysann grew up in Glenburn, ND. She graduated from Surrey High School in May of 1966. Chrysann attended Minot State University where she met Ronald A. Daugherty.

The couple was married on December 2, 1967, in Minot, ND. They celebrated the birth of their first child, Mari Marie, while in Minot and resided together in Minot until Ron was shipped overseas. In 1971, Ron returned to the United States, and the couple moved to Fort Lee, Virginia, where their son Erik was born. Shortly after Erik's birth the couple returned to North Dakota, purchasing a small farmstead near Eldridge, North Dakota.

Chrysann graduated with a nursing degree (LPN) from North Dakota State School of Science in October of 1979 and worked in the Jamestown area as a nurse at the Anne Carlson School and the ND State Hospital.

Chrysann returned to school in the fall of 1988, attending Minot State University. She graduated from college in 1993, with a Bachelor of Arts, after which she pursued a graduate degree.

Chrysann moved to the Minneapolis, MN, area and lived there for several years. She very much enjoyed being in the city and experiencing all of the opportunities that it had to offer. Due to the birth of grandchildren, as well as her failing health, she decided to move to the Moorhead, MN, area to be closer to family in 2008. Chrysann chose to reside with her daughter, Mari, and her husband, Dennis, and provided daycare to their children.

She experienced a significant health setback in the fall of 2016 and moved to assisted living within the Eventide Senior Living Communities in Moorhead. She lived at Eventide facilities in Moorhead until her recent death.

Watching sports, especially cheering for the NDSU Bison, was a passion of hers. She was a woman of great faith who often met with her pastor, attended Bible study, and enjoyed reading the Bible. Chrysann was a very giving soul and shared whatever she had with others. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. When asked about her favorite memories, she would describe hanging out with her parents, uncles, aunts, and cousins on game nights, where they would play Canasta and Aggravation. She enjoyed as much time as she could with her best friend Deb, often traveling and going on big adventures. Chrysann loved being a grandmother and spoke often of her grandchildren and their accomplishments.

Chrysann was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mabel Olson; and her brother, Noel Olson.

She is survived by her daughter, Mari (Daugherty, Thomson) (Dennis) Wanzek; grandchildren, Simon Wanzek, Mabel Wanzek, and Riley Wanzek (Aimee Bala); great-grandchild, Willow Bala; son, Erik (Darcie) Dietz Daugherty; grandchildren, Alexander Daugherty (Kirsten Scheldorf), Bradyn Daugherty, and Tysen Daugherty; nephews, Shane (Selesha) Olson, Josh (Cora) Olson, Chase Olson, and Chad (Valerie) Olson; brother, Milo (Roxie Olson), AZ; and best friend of 40 plus years, Deb Jones.
