Christopher Jay Lein, 58, passed away on May 26th, 2022, in his home.
Chris was born on June 29th, 1963, in Fergus Falls, MN, to Alvina and Donald Lein. He was the second child of four. Chris graduated from Glyndon High School in 1981.
After high school, Chris worked in the restaurant business, mainly with Wendy's and later Chi-Chi's. This is where he met his future wife, Christy. They were married on August 30th, 1985, at Holy Spirit Church in Fargo. They went on to have three children, and in 1996 Chris graduated with a bachelor's degree in Geosciences from NDSU.
Chris went to work for Navteq in Fargo in 1997. By 2007 he was sick of the corporate world and followed his passion for graphic design and started with Branick Industries of Fargo. He remained there until his death.
Chris was an avid Rock Music fan, with his favorite band being RUSH. He was a big football fan and a lifelong Vikings fanatic. He also loved anything dinosaurs, fast cars, Lego, and astronomy. He enjoyed entertaining and sharing all these interests with his children, his nieces, and nephews, neighbors, and basically anyone he met.
Chris is survived by his mother: Alvina Lein; His beloved wife: Christy Gallagher-Lein; his children: Nick Lein; Alexis Lein; and Travis (Bridget) Lein; his siblings: Tyrone Lein, Theresa Nygaard and Jon (Lynette) Lein; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Chris was preceded in death by his father: Donald Lein; his mother-in-law: Mary Gallagher; and his father-in-law: Joseph Gallagher.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations to Hospice Red River Valley. They would like to thank them for the amazing care that was given to Chris in his final weeks.
Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, North Dakota. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
