Chet Dickey, 92, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Fargo VA Hospital with his family by his side.
Chet was born in Canada to Andrew and Mabel (Purse) Dickey. Chet loved baseball, especially the Yankees emigrating to the US to play in the Yankee's farm team. He also served in the US Army and played baseball while serving.
He came home and married Gail Jahnke. They had two children, Shawn and Craig.
Chet later married Bernadine Sprenger. He was employed at St. Ansgar Hospital, working for the "Good Sisters" as he would say, and also kept up his own painting business.
Chet continued on with his love of sports through curling, bowling and golfing. After their retirement, he and his wife were fortunate to spend eight winters in Lake Havasu, AZ, which he said were the best years, dancing, golfing, and being with friends.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years; his daughter, Shawn (John) Garrett; son, Craig (Jeanette) Dickey; step-son, Craig (Lisa) Sprenger; step-daughter, Cindy Torseth; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
