Charlotte Ann Schlenz (Char) was born April 7, 1949, at Kulm, ND. She was the daughter of Arthur and Leona (Nitschke) Schlenz. Charlotte received her elementary education in Fredonia, ND and her high school education in Kulm, ND. She grew up on the family farm northwest of Fredonia, ND. On the farm, she did all sorts of farm jobs, including milking cows, raising chickens, ducks and geese, and helped with butchering. She also learned how to bake and cook GermanfFood from her mother. In later years they moved to Blunt, SD and then to Jamestown, ND. This is where their third son, Justin Grant was born on her birthday. After years in Jamestown, they decided to move back to Fargo, ND where they presently live.
