Charles "Charlie" William Krogen, Sr., died Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
Charlie was born December 5, 1924 to William F. and Agnes H. (Carlson) Krogen in Fargo, ND. He attended school in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School. Charlie served in the US Navy from 1943-1946 in the South Pacific. Charlie married Dorothy Tharaldson on April 6, 1946. They moved to Breckenridge, MN, and Charlie went to work for Tri-State Electric as an electrician. In 1948 they moved back to Fargo and Charlie continued working as an electrician until he retired in 1990.
Charlie and Dottie were founding members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Dottie; four children, Darryl (Tomi), Boise, ID; Charles Jr. "Skip", Antioch, TN; Linda (Muff) Brandt, Fargo, ND; Daniel "Dan", Fargo, ND; brothers, Roy and William "Bill", both Moorhead, MN; sister, Norma Wiltse, Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Kris, Tracy, Carie, Michael and Tiffani; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Kevin; two brothers, Willard and Robert; sisters, Elizabeth "Lisa", Pearl and Frances; and one grandson, Kurt.
The family would like to thank the fifth floor staff at Essentia Health for their wonderful and compassionate care of Charlie. They are truly "angels" on earth.
