Charles (Chuck) Edward Willits passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, in Fargo, ND. Chuck was born on March 23, 1946, the son of the late Joseph Willits and Mabel (Delong) Willits. He grew up in Moorhead, Minnesota and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1964.
Chuck met the love of his life, Bobbie Jo Nelson through a mutual friend in Fargo. The two married at St. John Lutheran Church on February 10, 1968. They were blessed with three sons and a daughter. Chuck was a dedicated family man and loved his family fiercely.
Chuck was a bricklayer for over 40 years working for multiple companies. Chuck had pride in his work which would show through his skill and dedication. On the weekends Chuck played in the Blue Moon Band as the lead guitar player and singer. Chuck played music for over a decade and then retired from the band in 1990. In 2008, he retired from bricklaying.
Throughout Chuck's life he was an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and trapping. Chuck spent any free time he had being outdoors and loved sharing this passion with his children and grandchildren. Chuck also had a hobby of racing homing pigeons. Chuck and his daughter spent many hours together taking care of the pigeons.
As Chuck grew older he found a deeper faith with God. He chose to be baptized again on July 23, 2014, and became a born-again Christian. Chuck loved spreading the word of God to everyone he met. One of his favorite weekly activities was to meet with his prayer group.
Chuck is survived and missed by his wife, Bobbie Jo; his sons, Mark (Heidi) of Moorhead, and Brian (Becky) of West Fargo and his daughter Ashley (Chad) Thompson of Fargo; treasured grandchildren, Brennan Willits, Brielle Willits, Cooper Thompson, Alex Dally, Eric Dally, and Issac Dally; brothers, Bob, Roger (Margaret), and Jerry (Carol) Willits.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Willits and Mabel Willits Anderson; step-father, Robert (Andy) Anderson; son Christopher, and granddaughter Adelyn Thompson; sister Charlotte Anderson; brothers, Bill, Dennis and Loren Willits.
