Charles B. Larson, 55, of Argusville, ND, died Monday, August 4, 2008, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Charles Burton Larson was born September 14, 1952, in Fargo, North Dakota, son of Burton and Alice (Wendelbo) Larson. As a youth, Charles was active in the Rush River Livestock 4-H Club. He traveled to Chicago for the National 4-H Judging Competition. He also completed his Farmer’s Union Youth program, earning both his All States Camp and Torchbearer Award. He graduated from Argusville High School in 1970, and from North Dakota State University in 1974, with a degree in Agronomy. He began farming with his father and eventually took over the farming operation. Until a few years ago, he also raised Hereford beef cattle. He was a member of the Nora Lutheran Church in rural Gardner. Charles served on the Cass County Farmers Union Board, was a member of Lions, volunteer fireman and secretary-treasurer of the Argusville Rural Fire Protection District. Charles is survived by his parents, Burton and Alice Larson, Argusville, ND; his sister, Helen (Ordean) Nygren, Bismarck, ND; niece, Maren (Justin) Gerhardt, Mandan, ND; nephew, Andrew Nygren, Bismarck, ND; two great-nieces, Monica and Malayna Gerhardt, Mandan, ND; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial Service: Saturday, August 9, 2008, at 3:30 PM, at Nora Lutheran Church, near Gardner, ND. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
