Charles Gruenberg Jr.

Charles (Chuck) E. Gruenberg Jr., 43, reached his final destination on Friday, May 14, 2010, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He died at Meritcare Hospital and was surrounded by family. Chuck was born on February 5, 1967. He was the son of Charles Sr. and Helen Gruenberg. He worked for the family business, G&M Lathing, in his younger years. He went on to earn a CADD degree and designed many homes in Fargo. He cherished time with his daughter Kaitlyn, spending time with family and friends, working on cars, camping and getting lost in the woods. Chuck’s most admirable trait was his generosity and his soft-hearted nature. Chuck is survived by his daughter Kaitlyn Fife, sister Judy Gruenberg, brother Casey Schank, niece Hannah Gruenberg, and his special friend, Teresa Martinez. A special thank you to Aunt Esther, Sherri Wakeman, Jim Gruenberg, and Peggy Jacobson for supporting him to the end. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles E. and Helen Gruenberg, and his sisters Donna Quittschreiber, and Claudette Gruenberg. He will be deeply missed by friends and family. Visitation is Tuesday from 5-7pm at Hanson-Runsvold funeral home in Fargo. Funeral is Wednesday at 11:00 at Olivet Lutheran with lunch to follow. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial. The family requests memorials go to American Cancer Society.
