Chad Russell Altstatt passed away from internal organ failure on December 8, 2023, at the age of 60. He was born on August 6, 1963, in Breckenridge, MN.
He had an accomplished sales career for the Fargo Forum for 20-plus years and was a top performer, recognized by his employer with many awards throughout his tenure.
Chad's warm and friendly nature endeared him to those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
One of his outstanding qualities was his ability to remember the names and the stories of the individuals he met; if you met him once, he would remember you for a lifetime. He had a passion for engaging in lengthy visits with family and friends, whom he loved dearly. He loved talking about the good old days.
Having grown up in Breckenridge, Chad held countless fond memories of his childhood years. His huge community of friends would describe him as a kind and good guy with a gentle spirit. His phone was always ringing, as he was very well-liked. He was always up for having fun and bringing laughter into every gathering.
Chad loved following his hometown sports, mainly football, and basketball, and was a lifetime Breckenridge Cowboys fan. Chad was also a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan and never missed watching a game.
Chad is survived by his mother, Shirley Altstatt of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters, Ann Andari (Howard) of Prescott Valley, AZ and Amy Altstatt of Sioux Falls, SD; aunts, Gayle Scheiterlein of Victoria, MN and Harriet Fleenor of Wahpeton, ND; cousin, Tana Erickson-Boyce of Chanhassen, MN; nieces and nephews, Lee Andari of Las Vegas, NV, Ginger of Sioux Falls, SD, Joseph of Tacoma, WA, and Georgia of Sioux Falls, SD; along with many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Altstatt; and uncle, Claude Fleenor.
A celebration of life will be held in Fargo in the Summer of 2024, with the date, time, and location to be determined.
