Carolyn "Tammy" Breuer

Carolyn “Tammy” Breuer 82, of Fargo passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at Essentia Hospital. Carolyn was born March 22, 1929 in Griffin, Georgia, the daughter of Walter B. and Kate (Akins) Wise. She graduated Griffin High School in 1947 and attended college at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She also attended Huntington College in Montgomery, Alabama where she met and married her husband, Peter W. Breuer of White Shield, North Dakota on April 30, 1950. After Peter’s discharge from the service they moved to North Dakota. The couple lived at Garrison, Fargo, and Bismarck and for 3 years in Miles City, Montana before returning to Fargo in 1965, where she resided until her death. Christened Berta Carolyn Wise, her southern family and friends knew her as Carolyn, but Pete nicknamed her Tam or Tammy as her northern friends so fondly called her. Pete and Tam had 2 children; daughter, Deborah Sustrich of Sheridan, Wyoming and son, Greg Breuer of Fairview, Montana. Carolyn (Tam) was a volunteer at MeritCare (now Sanford) Hospital for 40 years. She was an active member in the Plymouth Congregational Church, Fargo, ND. She enjoyed bridge, knitting, bowling and of course her family. She is survived by 2 children, daughter Deborah (Bill) Sustrich of Sheridan, Wyoming and son, Greg (Carol) Breuer of Fairview, Montana, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her parents and her husband, Peter. Memorial Service: Wednesday, December 7, 2011, 1:30 PM at Plymouth Congregational UCC – 901 Broadway North, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Tuesday, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Burial: Arikara Congregational Cemetery, White Shield, ND. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 2:00 PM, beside her husband, Peter. Poinsettias or memorials are preferred to Plymouth Congregational UCC, Fargo.
