Carolyn Mae Peterson

October 16, 1932 — April 15, 2020

Carolyn Mae Brudevold Peterson recently passed away at 87 years old, on April 15, 2020. It took 11 years for her to get her Fargo High degree.
Her first significant job was a secretary to Florida Bell President. She stayed with an aunt and uncle and after 7 years, a health issue required her to return north. She then transferred to a local phone company with a variety of assignments over the years. She was then offered an early retirement, which she accepted, increasing her church activities as well as engaging in her other activities.
At 63 years old, she met and married a 66-year-old retiree. Although our backgrounds varied, gardening was a mutual interest, as well as rare recipes. Our music appreciation was the classical, whereby we had yearly tickets to the FM symphony Orchestra.
Of our yearly trips, one stands out, it included 2 Lutherans, along with 40 or so Catholics with Bishop Sullivan as the Spiritual Leader. The trip involved spiritual sites at a variety of locations, terminating at the Vatican. The visits were spiritual, as well as interesting and embedded in our memory banks.
We then replaced the trips with a winter hiatus. We spent 16 years in Cullman, Alabama, where the locals treated us like royalty. It is a favorable task to eulogize someone so unique. In her personal relationships, her attitude was always positive of the individual addressing her. If you are friendly to all, regardless of the circumstances, the response is positive.
She left behind her mate, brother, sisters in law, brothers in law, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Bertha, brothers, Jim and Bob and sisters in law.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Golden Ridge Church.
