Carolyn Burman

Carolyn Burman, 68, of Fargo, ND, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Carolyn Ruth Busse was born April 22, 1940, in Bremer County Iowa to Harold and Viola (Scharnhorst) Busse. She attended elementary school at St. Paul’s Christian Day School and graduated from Waverly High School in Waverly, Iowa. She attended Wartburg College and later graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris. Carolyn married Chuck Burman November 29, 1959, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waverly, Iowa. They moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1972, Ortonville, Minnesota in 1977 and Fargo in 1983. Carolyn was a volunteer at Rosewood Auxiliary. She was active in the First Lutheran Church Circle and Stonecroft Ministries. She is survived by her husband, Chuck, Fargo, ND; daughter, Amy (Doug) Adelman, Bellingham, MN; and two sons, Mark (Lorraine) Burman, Bismarck, ND; and Bruce Burman, Fargo, ND; a sister, Mildred (LeRoy) Bergmann, Waverly, IA; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials are preferred to Rosewood Auxiliary, First Lutheran Church or Stonecroft Ministries.
