Carole Bjugstad, 70, passed away peacefully March 15, 2020 in her home, Fargo, ND.
Carole was born August 23, 1949 the daughter of Robert and Sylvia Koppinger. She grew up in New England, ND and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She graduated from Dickinson State College with a teaching degree and taught high school math in Sheldon, ND.
While living in Sheldon she worked as a teacher and married Carl “Marty” Bjugstad and had three children. Her other adventures included being a stay at home mom, running a local business with Marty, substitute teaching various subjects, offering private piano lessons, playing the organ in the church for many, many years, and working in the local post office. Later in life she enjoyed being on the road with her husband as he drove truck all over the country.
Carole took great joy in her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved watching her children and grandchildren playing sports and other activities. She had a love of music recently enjoying the local symphony. She was also a big fan of the moving music of Barry Manilow. She was a prolific crocheter, gifting afghans and other yarn-based works of art to numerous friends and family.
Carole is survived by her sons Chris (Heidi) Bjugstad, Maple Grove, MN; Brian (Erin) Bjugstad, Fargo, ND; Eric Bjugstad, West Fargo, ND; 5 grandchildren, Wyatt, Sawyer, and Mya Bjugstad, Braeden Wanzek, Sydney Huus; mother, Sylvia Koppinger; 8 siblings, Jerry (Luverne) Koppinger, Dan Koppinger, Allen (Cindy) Koppinger, Kathy Koppinger, Laura Koppinger, Barbara (AJ) Olson, Howard Koppinger, Tim (Janet) Koppinger and many nieces, nephews, and loving relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Marty” Bjugstad; and father, Robert Koppinger.
Burial: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
