Carol Ann Davis

Carol Ann Davis, 75, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully Friday, April 3, 2009, at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND, after battling many illnesses. Carol Ann Nydahl was born July 24, 1933, in Fargo, North Dakota, daughter of Sam and Ella (Sauer) Nydahl. She grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1951. Carol began working as a dietary aide in the kitchen at St. Luke’s Hospital until she became a telephone operator. She enjoyed working outside the home until marrying. Carol married the love of her life, Bob Davis, October 12, 1951, at Plymouth Congregational Church, Fargo. Together, she and Bob raised their family in Fargo. She loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed taking them shopping on Saturday mornings. Her passions were her home, gardening, writing poetry and making jewelry as well as many other crafts and hobbies. Carol was a long-time member of Pontoppidan Lutheran Church. She belonged to Naomi Circle, was involved with the quilters and other church activities. She also faithfully tended the flower beds at the church for many years. Carol is survived by her husband, Bob, Fargo ND; her children, Cindy (Paul) Fillner, Portland, OR; and Jody (Ken) Schonberg, Brooklyn Park, MN; two sisters, Dorothy Swenson, Milwaukee, WI; and Nancy Best, Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren, Sean, Christina, Corey, John, Cole, Matthew, Daniel, and Joshua; and eight great-grandchildren, Lillian, Emma, Rachel, Lauren, Kelly, Denise, Taren and Ethan. She had many lifelong friends who will also miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved daughter, Becky Fox; and her brother, William Bredvig. Funeral service: Monday, April 6, 2009, at 2:00 PM at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Sunday, April 5, 2009, from 5 – 7 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.
