Carol Parmer, 80, Fargo, passed away March 22, 2007, at Rosewood on Broadway with her husband, Joe, of 61 years by her side. Carol Joyce Fauteck was born December 25, 1926, in Towner, ND, to Robert and Ella (Larsen) Fauteck. She was baptized on March 2, 1927. The family moved to Wahpeton, ND, and then to Chaffee, ND, where she graduated from high school. In 1944, she moved to Fargo and attended Concordia College, Moorhead. She worked for the Graver Hotel coffee shop, where she met Joe Parmer. In 1946 they married in Fargo. She raised four children and then worked as an activity director for Fargo Seniors High Rise until she retired. Carol believed in giving back to the community and kept busy over the years through volunteering. Her volunteer work included the following clubs and organizations: Altrusa, United Blood Services and the League of Women Voters. She also volunteered for St. Luke’s Hospital and MeritCare Medical Center. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fargo, where she was on the church council, women’s group president, circle chairwoman and funeral committee chairwoman. She enjoyed sports, especially American Legion Baseball, Bison basketball and activities involving her children and grandchildren. Carol’s children and grandchildren were very important to her. Carol is survived by her husband; three sons, Robert (Beverly), Grand Forks, ND, Stephen (Barbara), Bruce, both Fargo; a daughter, Cynthia, Fargo; a brother, Donald (Chere), Coon Rapids, MN; a sister, Darlene (Philip) Martin, Andover, MN; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert, Dwayne, and Phillip; and daughter-in-law, Paula Parmer. Visitation: Monday, from 5-7pm at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Prayer Service: Monday, 7pm at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. Funeral: Tuesday, 11am at First Lutheran Church, Fargo. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo.
