Carol (Laidlaw) Ogard, of Fargo, died peacefully on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Benedictine Care Community in Ada, MN. She was 82 years old.
Carol grew up and attended school in the Winnipeg, MB area. Shortly after finishing school, Carol set out on her personal adventure of going to the United States and making it on her own. While living and working in Fargo, Carol met the love of her life, Charles Ogard, of Hendrum, MN. They married on June 5, 1954.
Charles and Carol lived, loved, farmed, and raised four daughters on their farm in rural Hendrum. They were married for 52 years when Charles died in 2006.
Carol was a great wife, mom and grandma. She earned the love and respect of her family by her compassionate, loving, caring, and selfless attitude. Carol would make special treats for the grandchildren and lend support to any family member that needed it. She could always be counted on.
Carol is survived by her four daughters, Christy (Steven) Jacobson, Hendrum, MN, Paula Nelson, Fargo, ND, Debra Boehm, Mandan, ND, and Susan (Mike) Fetrow, Kingman, AZ; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a sister, Louise Morse, Edmonton, Alberta.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; granddaughter, Allison Nelson; grandsons, Lance Boehm, Charles Boehm and brothers, Bob Laidlaw and Ken Laidlaw.
