Carol Frances Kirchoff

Carol Kirchoff, 84, passed away on July 23, 2017.

She was born in Carrington, ND on November 18, 1932. She attended St. Alexis School of Nursing from 1950-1953. On September 10, 1953, she married the love of her life, Richard Kirchoff, also of Carrington.

They began a family while Richard was attending Pharmacy School at NDSU. They moved to Williston, ND, then Hazen, Minot and Drake, ND. Left a widow in 1967 with 5 kids ages 2 to 12, the family returned to Fargo so Carol could resume her nursing career.

Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge and scrabble. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, growing flowers, and spending time with her local friends who were very dear to her. She also enjoyed going to plays. Carol had a wonderful sense of humor and was fiercely independent till the end.

She is survived by her children, Tim (Connie) Kirchoff, Andover, MN; Stephanie (Terry Scanlan) Kirchoff, Spokane, WA; Kevin (Jo) Kirchoff, Memphis, TN; Pam (Turk) Comstock, Bozeman, MT and Paul (Paula) Kirchoff, Santa Barbara, CA; 10 grandchildren, Kandis Kirchoff, Corey Scanlan, Geoff Scanlan, Brandt (Adrienne) Scanlan, Richelle Scanlan, Matt (Harmony) Barsness, Krissa (Nick) Rodgers, Eric Kirchoff, Alexandra Kirchoff, and Sheyenne Kirchoff; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Pat Tollefson of Bismarck ND; Veronica Maier, of Seattle, WA and Lynne (Steve) McMonagle of Valley City, ND. Carol is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Allen Kirchoff; her parents, Vernon and Lucille Footitt, of Carrington, ND and in-laws, Hank and Marian Kirchoff of Carrington, ND.
