Carol Jean Chose was born August 11, 1932 in Kathryn, ND to Trygve and Elfie Svestad. She attended school in Kathryn and went on to be a teacher in a one room schoolhouse in Northland Township.
On August 13, 1950 she married Clarence Chose in Fort Ransom, ND. They lived on the Chose family farm near Fort Ransom, where they raised four children and worked side by side until 1987, when they moved to Fargo. In Fargo, they served as custodians at First United Methodist Church until September 1, 1997, when they retired.
Our beloved Grandma Carol was known by many for her talents in the kitchen. She enjoyed baking, (we all loved those famous donuts & lefse!), attending the many events and activities of her grandkids & great grandkids, dancing the polka, and playing on the computer. Carol was a fashionista and was always gussied up and matching! She had a heart of gold and shared her love with everyone around her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and many, many others.
She leaves two sons, Clay (Gail), Fort Ransom, ND and Craig (Barbara), Frazee, MN; two daughters, Cathy (Dale) Wunderlich, Lisbon, ND and Cheryl Christianson, Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Chris (Tanya) Kelsen, Breckenridge, MN, Kyle (Andi) Christianson, West Fargo, ND, Sara Christianson, Doha, Qatar, & Ryan Christianson, Fargo, ND; four great-grandchildren, Cade, Paige, Camden & Brielle Kelsen, Breckenridge, MN; and two sisters, Shirley Bjerke, Kathryn, ND and Barbara (Richard) Gunderson, Osceola, IA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Chose, her parents, sister, Ruth Larson, and brothers-in-law, LeRoy Larson and Melvin Bjerke.
Carol’s family would like to thank Elim Care Center, Fargo, for taking such wonderful care of our Mom/Grandma. A special thanks to her nurses, Lexi, Courtney & Lexi. We are truly grateful for the love, care, and attention you gave to our sweet Carol.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM, Monday, June 17 at First United Methodist Church of Fargo. Interment will be at 2:30 PM at Northland Cemetery, Fort Ransom, North Dakota.
