Carl Bopp, 91, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, September 2, 2008, at Eventide Living Center, Moorhead, MN. Carl Thomas Bopp was born on January 11, 1917, in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, son of Frances Xavier and Anne (Suppe) Bopp. He attended school in Scotch Plains. Carl went on to serve as an amphibious mechanic in the U.S. Marine Corps, during WWII, with a rank of Sergeant. Carl married Adele Poliseo on November 19, 1938. He worked at Steve’s Garage and Aamco, until his retirement in 1987. They lived in Scotch Plains and Crestwood Village in Whiting, New Jersey, before moving to Moorhead in 2004. Carl was active in various United Methodist churches. Carl is survived by his wife, Adele; two sons, David (Janet) Bopp, Point Pleasant Beach, NJ; and Richard (Wendy) Bopp, Indian Wells, CA; a brother-in-law, Joseph (Violet) Poliseo, Elmira, NY; a sister-in-law, Jane Eron, Whiting, NJ; grandchildren, Janet (Jay) Drechsel, Fargo, ND; Paul (Julie) Grove, Columbus, OH; Susan (Eugene) Bounds, Alexandria, VA; Karen (Shawn) Hickey, Columbus, OH; Jason Bopp, San Francisco, CA; Richard Bopp, South Plainfield, NJ; Melinda Ruiz, Branchburg, NJ; Christopher Bopp, Somerville, NJ; great-grandchildren, William and Katherine Drechsel; Vanessa and Jonathan Grove; Charles Bounds; and Brendan and Colin Hickey; and nephews, Andru Eron and William Poliseo; and niece, Jane Poliseo. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank; and sisters, Ida, Margaret, Dorothy, Frances, Louise, and Anna. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Parish Nurse Ministries and Stephen’s Ministries at First United Methodist Church, Fargo, ND.
