Candace Candy Jane Quick, 76, of Fargo, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her children, on February 9, 2021, after a 4-year battle with cancer.
Candy was born on June 16, 1944, to Charles and Shirley (Phelps) Vail in Breckenridge, MN. After graduating from Milnor High School in 1962, Candy went on to study teaching at Valley City State College.
After graduation, Candy went on to teach High School English and Geography. Later receiving her Masters in Counseling from North Dakota State University.
In February 1968, Candy married Darrel J.E. Quick, going on to have three children, Jodi, Stacy, and Ryan.
Candy was very passionate about her faith. She volunteered at church teaching Sunday school, confirmation, and serving communion. Also, attending multiple faith-based study groups.
Candy was preceded in death by her husband, Darrel, parents, Charles and Shirley Vail, her sisters, Sheila Casey and Beth Newton.
Candy is survived by her three children: Jodi (Brian) Hanson, Fargo, ND; Stacy Quick, Meridian, ID; Ryan (Allison) Quick, Bismarck, ND. Her siblings: Sherry Lemmer, Bruce (Angie) Vail, Brian (Eileen) Vail, Kent (Carla) Vail, and Jill (Rick) Arnold; and seven grandchildren: Madison (Adam) Hanson Lacher, Wyatt, Owen, and Keegan Hanson; Riley, Seth, and Hannah Quick.
At Candys request, there will be no public service. A private family service will be held this summer.
