Bruce D. Brovold was born to Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Brovold, June 11, 1948. He was a lifelong resident of Fargo. He was in the first graduating class of North High School in 1966 and attended NDSU before entering the US Army in 1968. He then worked as a meat cutter for ten years and then went on to maintenance and custodial work until he became disabled in 2002.
Bruce struggled with chronic pain for many years from different health related diseases. Even though he had pain every day, with his good sense of humor, making people happy also made him happy. In the spring of 2014, Bruce was diagnosed with cancer.
Bruce was a long time safety advocate for the disabled, handicapped, poor and vulnerable citizens. He wrote many letters to the editor and spoke at many City Commission meetings. He was able to fill a book full of his many accomplishments from his letter writings with before and after pictures.
Bruce died November 16, 2015 at Villa Maria in Fargo, ND. He was 67.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Spencer Brovold; his mother, Gladys Brovold; two brothers, Tom and Jerry Brovold and his sister, Dorothy Waclawik Brovold.
He is survived by his sister, Linda (Steve) Schmid; daughter, Kerry (Russell) Clark; two grandchildren; eleven nieces and nephews, and many great, and great- great nieces and nephews.
