Bonnie N. Reed passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept 6, 2009, at Manor Care Nursing Home after a long, rewarding life. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 26, 1920, the beloved, only child of Ethel Bell Nelson and Daniel Anton Nelson. On Halloween Day (October 31), 1942, she married Carl W. Reed, Jr. at the Fort Snelling Chapel in Minneapolis. She and Carl moved to Fargo in 1947, where they raised their four children and enjoyed their many friends and fun-filled activities. During her younger years, Bonnie enjoyed bowling and square dancing and was widely recognized for her gardening, sewing, knitting, and hardanger, as well as her skills in bridge, crossword puzzles, and baking Norweigan Christmas cookies and candies. Bonnie is survived by Carl, her husband of 67 years, and their daughters Janet Reed Gilsdorf (James) of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Nancy Reed Markusen (Bruce) of Portland, Oregon, Patricia Reed of Fargo, and their son Carl (Chuck) William Reed (Susan) of Houston, Texas as well as their grandchildren Daniel Gilsdorf (Bean), William Markusen (Lisa), Katie Markusen-Carkin (Aaron), and Anne Markusen of Portland, Oregon, and Joseph Gilsdorf and William Heckenkamp (Tracy) of Houston, Texas, and their four great grandchildren, Lauren and Natalie Heckenkamp, Emery Markusen, and Ainsley Reed Carkin.
