Beverly Moher

September 3, 1930 — May 15, 2010

Betty Moher was set free on May 15, 2010, at Bethany Homes of Fargo at the age of 79. Beverly Gail was born on September 3, 1930, in Fargo, ND, as the third child of Samuel and Eleanor Rogers. She grew up in Fargo and graduated from Central High School in the class of 1948. Betty was married to Claude Stone and to this union, a son was born, Michael. When Mike was a baby, Claude passed away unexpectedly. After Claude’s death, William Moher came into Betty and Mike’s life. Betty and Bill were married on July 5, 1954. Their family grew with the addition of a daughter, Kimberly, in 1955, and another son, Jay, in 1958. Betty and Bill lived life to the fullest and were the ultimate lake people with many a good time at their lake cabin on Detroit Lakes with family and friends. Boating, traveling, bridge, reading, and being a full participant in her children’s lives were just a few of Betty’s loves. Betty was a true friend to many known for her quick laugh and ability to listen. Bill passed away in 1996 and Betty was able to spend a few winters in Texas and summers in Detroit Lakes before the effects of Alzheimer’s were noticed. Betty spent her last years at Lincoln Park Assisted Living in Detroit Lakes, Villa Maria and Bethany Homes in Fargo. For those who knew her, it was a privilege to be a part of her journey. Betty Gail is survived by her children; Mike (Christine) Moher of Detroit Lakes, Kimberly (David) Skarphol of Fargo, and Jay of Detroit Lakes; grandchildren, Jameson Moher, Logan and Austin Skarphol, and Levi Moher; great grandchildren, Ansley and Ailey Braseth; and one brother, Robert. Her only granddaughter, Afton Moher Braseth, preceded Betty in death in 2010. Betty’s parents and brother, Samuel, also went before her in death. Memorial Service: Tuesday, May 18, 2010, 10:00 AM at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Memorials may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of the Red River Valley.
