Betty Ruth Hughes, 91, Fargo, ND died at home surrounded by family, on October 17, 2017.
Betty Ruth Kindlespire was born March 9, 1926 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Frank and Grace Kindlespire. She married Ray Mondry and they had five children together. They lived in Ardock and Grand Forks. Betty later married Anthony Hughes and moved to Fargo. Betty worked for many years at Sears in Grand Forks before moving to the Fargo store and later retired from there. Betty was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, American Legion, the VFW Auxiliary and volunteered at the VA for many years, well into her 80s.
She enjoyed gardening and going to auctions, cooking, reading, playing cards, Yahtzee and spending time with family and friends. She also liked to go to the casino occasionally and traveled to Vegas in years past.
Betty is survived by her children: Rae Fiscus (Bill), Terre Haute, IN, Terry Mondry, Moorhead, MN, Scott Mondry, Fargo, ND; step children, Nancy Hughes, Fargo, ND and Michael Hughes, Frazee, MN; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Elizabeth Mondry; her husband, Ray Mondry, daughter, Carol Anderson; husband, Tony Hughes; daughter, Sandra Krueger McKichan; father and mother, Frank and Grace Kindlespire; brother, Pat Kindlespire and sister, Fran Matheson.
Betty was an amazing mother, grandmother and friend. The family wishes to thank Hospice for their care and concern for Betty.
