Bette Lou Seward

September 29, 1954 — September 30, 2024

Bette Lou Seward, 70, of Fargo, ND, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024, surrounded by her loving family and friends, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Bette was born on September 29, 1954, in Fergus Falls, MN, the youngest of eight children to Denton and Enez (Kimber) Jensen. At a young age, her family moved to Fargo, ND, where Bette attended Fargo North High School. In 1972, she married, John (Joe) Arthur Seward, and together Bette and Joe built a life in north Fargo, raising three beautiful daughters.

Bette worked for many years managing Rosie’s Laundromat in north Fargo, where she was a well-known and beloved presence until the business closed. Beyond her work, Bette took immense pride in maintaining her home and spent countless happy hours tending to her yard. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She dedicated much of her time to her children and grandchildren, finding true happiness in helping raise two of her young grandchildren and spending time with her loved ones.

Bette will be deeply missed by her three daughters: Amy (Gabe) Prince of Aurora, CO, Lisa (Jeff) Seward, and Jenny Seward, of Fargo, ND; her cherished grandchildren: Abriana, Gabriel, Gavin, Jeffrey, and Jesse. She is also survived by her sister Caroline (David) Flink, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Denton and Enez, as well as her siblings: brothers Harold, Stanley, Eugene, and David, and sisters Isabelle and Roslyn. Bette's family takes comfort in knowing she has been reunited with them in heaven.

A celebration of Bette’s life will be held soon, with details to follow. The family will notify friends and loved ones when arrangements are finalized.
