Beth Ann Johnson

August 23, 1961 — January 21, 2025

Beth Ann Johnson was born on August 23, 1961, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the youngest child of Loel and Betty Stanaway. She entered eternal rest on January 21, 2025.

As a child, Beth moved to Gwinner, North Dakota, where she graduated with the Class of 1979. She loved playing basketball during her school years, a passion that reflected her lifelong love of sports. After high school, she attended Interstate Business College and built a successful career in medical transcription.

Although she had moved around experiencing different cities, Beth was overjoyed when she finally settled down & was able to purchase her home in West Fargo around 1995. A house where she began her life raising her many children. More than a house, Beth made it a home-a safe and welcoming place filled with love and memories that her family will forever hold dear. A home until the very last child was able to be on their own. She then moved to a townhome in 2023 closer to one of her daughters in Ottertail, MN.

Beth was a woman of countless passions. She loved sports of all kinds, being outdoors, gardening, and picking strawberries. She collected rocks from her adventures, baked holiday treats, cooked meals in bulk to ensure everyone was fed, and could always light up a room with her laughter. An avid music lover and concertgoer, she attended too many concerts to count. Music was her heartbeat, and her favorite songs became the soundtrack of her life.

Beth's love language was providing and nurturing. Seeing others happy gave her immense joy, whether through family dinners, trying new restaurants, or simply creating warmth and connection wherever she went. She had the biggest heart and was a selfless soul who spread joy and compassion to everyone she met. Her kindness was boundless-she would give her time, her support, or even the shirt off her back to help someone in need.

Beth leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of her children and grandchildren: Randie, Mandie (Adrian), Joshua (Sage), KaeLeigh, Diamond, Gage, and Lauriana. She is also survived by her brother, Brian (Mindy); sister, Brenda (Paul); the father of her children, Tom; her mother-in-law, Janice; her mother figure, Ginny; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her father, Loel; mother, Betty; father-in-law, Donovan; best friend, Todd; and Todd's father, Ron.

A celebration of Beth's life will take place this summer, with details to be announced. In her memory, her family encourages acts of kindness that reflect her generous and loving spirit. To honor Beth, play a song that reminds you of her and let the music carry her spirit forward. Beth reminds us of the true meaning of unconditional love and that life is a symphony meant to be shared. Go ahead and order that dessert-maybe even two to share. Beth loved indulging in the simple joys of life, and she would want us to do the same.
