Bernice Iverson, 92, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Max, ND, died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Bethany on University in Fargo, ND.
Bernice C. Dunham was born August 6, 1925 at Pelican Rapids, MN to James and Anna (Dillerud) Dunham. She was raised in the Glyndon area with her 5 siblings. She received her teaching certificate from the Minnesota Teacher College. She taught in various cities on the East Coast, and then Walcott and Benedict, ND. This is where she met her late husband, Raymond Iverson, at a Lutefisk supper at Our Savior Lutheran Church of Max. They made their home in rural Max on Ray’s family farmstead. This is where they raised their 3 children, Raymond Jr, Marilyn, and Arlette. Bernice loved being on the farm and raising her family. She was active in the church, 4H, and her community. She loved having people in her home, feeding them, talking over coffee, and playing cards. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They can do no wrong. She often told multiple stories of her grandchildren and the great memories she had with them.
She and Ray moved to Fargo in the late 80’s. This is where she resided until her death. She lived independently until 3 years ago when she entered Bethany Nursing home.
Bernice loved to paint, bake, write letters, play cards and tell stories about her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
