Bernadine Charlotte Awes

Bernadine Charlotte (Holter) Awes was born to Bernard and Blanche Holter on January 31, 1928 near Oslo, MN. She died peacefully on December 28, 2013.
Bernadine married Emory Awes on September 19, 1948.

She was a strong, spirited woman but she exemplified the character of a servant, always putting others before herself. Bernadine loved to play board and card games with her family and to quilt with her church group. She enjoyed the outdoors – whether it was gardening, boating or fishing and going for rides on the “gator”. Family was important and she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched.

Bernadine is survived by her children, Duane (Peggy) Awes of Pocatello, ID, Deborah (Gordon) Johnson of Cavalier, ND, Robert (Ramona) Awes of Pocatello, ID and Janet (Ron) Wieck of Hawley, MN; her sister, Joyce Holter of Warren, MN; her brothers, Dick (Carmen) Holter of Cohasset, MN and Terry (Cindy) Holter of Bemidji, MN; and sister-in-law, Peggy Holter of Bemidji, MN; grandchildren, David Viramontes (Lisa), Melissa (Michael) Aarness, Becky (Chris) Hunter, Michael (Michelle) Johnson, Kari (Eric) Dick, Maia (Tom) Farrens, Christopher (Lisa) Awes, Elise Wieck and Jordan Wieck, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Bernadine was preceded in death by her husband, Emory; daughter, Marilyn; grandson, Eric; her parents and brother, Ray Holter.
