Beatrice L. Mortenson, 83 of Fargo, ND, died Friday, July 25, 2008, at her home in Fargo, ND. Beatrice Graff was born to Albert and Gertrude Graff on February 25, 1925. She graduated from Kindred High School and went directly into teaching before completing her college education at Valley City Teachers College. She married James Mortenson on June 28, 1969 in Kindred. Beatrice taught for 40 years in North Dakota and Montana schools. She also taught in a mission school in Papua, New Guinea for two years. The life of Beatrice was devoted to her teaching and service to her Lord. Her works in church are too numerous to mention. Beatrice is survived by her husband, James of Fargo, ND; and seven sisters, Garnet (Maurice) Floberg of Moorhead; MN, Aagot Hanson of Hawley, MN; Evelyn (Morris) Wirth of Alexandria, MN; Doris (Elroy) Alberg, Irene (Wesley) Nelson, and Corinne Nygard all of Fargo, ND; and Marlene (Gene) Berquist of Beaverton, OR. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gordon. Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at 11:00AM, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation: Monday, July 28, 2008, from 5-7PM, at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo, ND and one hour prior to the service at church. Prayer Service: Monday, July 28, 2008, at 6 PM, at Hanson-Runsvold. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or Bethlehem Lutheran Church Library of Fargo.
