Barbara Jean (Koenig) Westhoff left behind many loved ones as she was welcomed by many awaiting her in heaven. She entered the arms of her Lord and Savior, the morning of Sunday, April 18, 2021 - just as church processionals were about to start.
Barb is preceded in death by grandparents Herman and Sadey Koenig and M.K. and Gladys Patterson; parents Alvin and Doris Koenig; Alvin's second wife and stepmother Maizie Engen; twin sister Deborah Joan Koenig; brother John Koenig; friends, and extended family members. She is survived by her beloved husband Gaylan; cherished son Michael; dear sister Nancy, and extended family.
Barbara spent over 27 years serving the farming community of Westby, MT, providing care to three (ELCA) churches through weekly sermons, innumerable prayers, marriage counseling and marriage ceremonies, baptisms, and accompanying those that were going to their heavenly place.
Barbara was forever grateful to Pastor Chris Flohr, for his selfless gift of his kidney, transplanted to her eleven years ago. With that wondrous extension of life, she was able to share more blessed time with her family whom she loved deeply.
The typical "middle child", Barb abhorred conflict, sought to understand each side's position, and tried to find the right words to assist people in reaching peace. We are heartbroken about our separation from her, but grateful Barb is now fully at peace in heaven, where there is no more pain or sorrow, and with a steadfast hope we shall see her once again when we depart this earth.
