Barbara Gail Olsen

Barbara was born to Rachel and Richard Olsen on August 26, 1956. She was raised in Fargo, ND, where she attended elementary and high school, graduating from Fargo South High in 1974.

She enjoyed playing the French Horn in the high school band, putting on synchronized swimming shows, and working as a lifeguard in the summer. She loved music and participated in everything she could.

Barb attended the University of North Dakota and furthered her education at William Mitchell Law School starting in 1978.

Barbara battled a long-term medical illness for many years and resided at Golden Acres in Carrington, ND, at that time. The family thanks the staff at Golden Acres for her good care and memories there.

Barb loved music all her life and enjoyed sports of all kinds. She never missed a game of her favorite football, baseball, or basketball teams and tried to tune into the MN Wild hockey games as much as possible. Barb was an expert on her beloved teams and was their biggest fan. Barbara also loved animals, especially her cats and her parent's little dog Boomer.

Barb is survived by her brother, David Olsen, Minneapolis, and sister, Dianne Ellefson, Fargo; niece, Allison Olsen, Minneapolis; nephew, Christopher Ellefson, Fargo; niece, Kari Flom (Tyler); and great nephew, Emery Flom, Evans, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rachel Olsen; and brother, Tom Olsen.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
